Our Starlite classes are for children in primary 1, 2 and 3.

The classes are one hour long and are a combination of either tap, disco and ballet or tap, disco and modern/jazz.

All our classes are age appropriate in dance moves and song choices.

We have fun doing steps – exercises – dances -building the children’s musicality and at the same time making new friends.

It also instills confidence and makes the transition into the next level of dancing so much easier.

Our annual show is usually at the beginning of June and the children do one dance for each discipline – the difference this experience makes to them I honestly cannot put into words. It is a great confidence booster and they really blossom after their time on stage. This is the highlight of our dancing year.

All outfits for our display are hired from the school and the only things you need to provide are their tap and ballet shoes, pink ballet tights and a white outfit for the finale – there are no hidden extras.

From this age the children can take part in dance exams if they have had good class attendance and have reached the required standard. They enter in groups of 3-4 and an adult is present with them at all times who will help them with the steps. The reward for entering is a medal and a certificate with their name printed on it. These exams are not compulsory but they do give the children a great sense of achievement.
